South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha has landed in New York City, courtesy of Veuve Cliquot, South Africa, to attend the 10th Annual Veuve Cliqout Polo Classic on Sunday,
3 June, at Liberty State Park, New Jersey.
This comes on the heels of her successful hosting of the VC Masters Polo at Vel De Vie Estate in Stellenbosch South Africa, 4 March 2017. The New York leg of this global event will be hosted by actor Neil Patrick Harris, and will culminate in a special performance on the field by Grammy Award winner, Alicia Keys.
The dimple faced beauty will be in a specially designed dress by Vanessa Gounden.
“I fell in love with it immediately. The print reminds me of the African landscapes and
sunset, but with a beautiful international flair. I had fun with the concept process of
this dress. The brief to my US glam team is to keep it Nubian and am excited to adorn a
new hairstyle, all natural of course.”
Nomzamo will also be attending other events that she’s been invited to, while taking in some
key meetings in furthering her career and business meetings geared towards her newly
formed foundation, A Brighter Tomorrow, with a special focus on creating awareness about
mental health and depression amongst the youth in our country.
The is a subject that’s very personal and close to Nomzamo’s heart and shows that not only is she about “beauty, confidence and grace”, but in her is a woman with great “intelligence, resilience, sensitivity who is self-made”.
“Due to a personal experience, I realized that during the course of one’s life, one will
experience anxiety and depression. It is for this reason that I am most passionate
about using my position creating awareness about depression, especially for the
young who suffer in silence because they are afraid to be branded as weak or mad.” - release by BrandThreeSitxy
