Mzansi Magic presents its newest drama series, "Obstruction," offering audiences a window into the complex lives of teenagers. Premiering on Monday, March 18, the series promises to delve deep into the challenges faced by today's youth.
The focal character, Zenokuhle (Luyanda Zuma), is a 17-year-old high school student and budding Netball star with aspirations of representing the Gauteng Provincial Netball Team. However, her journey is fraught with obstacles that she must confront head-on.
Through Zenokuhle's narrative, "Obstruction" aims to explore the experiences of a talented young black woman and her peers as they navigate relationships with family, friends, and romantic interests.
The premiere episode introduces Zenokuhle and her mother Thandiwe (Bukamina Cebekhulu), whose strained relationship adds to Zenokuhle's challenges. Thandiwe's decision to relocate them to a new school and neighborhood only adds to Zenokuhle's burdens as she strives to lead her new team to victory in the Netball finals.
Unknown to Zenokuhle, her father Mandla (Menzi Biyela) harbors a serious gambling addiction, further complicating her life. As she grapples with new schoolmates and romantic entanglements, Zenokuhle's journey becomes a compelling exploration of adolescent struggles.
The ensemble cast includes Lerato Mokoka as Zenokuhle's 'frenemy' Ora, alongside Nhlanhla Kunene and Thembsie Matu in supporting roles.
Don't miss the premiere of "Obstruction" on Monday, March 18, at 20:00 on Mzansi Magic channel 161. Tune in to witness whether a mother's love can indeed reshape a teenager's perceptions and alter the course of her future.
