Mzansi Magic is embarking on a bold new direction, welcoming fresh production teams to bring diverse, shorter series that reflect South Africa's vibrant storytelling. The shift aims to offer a wider variety of local content, with beloved favourites making way for exciting new series in 2025.

Among the shows wrapping up are fan-favourite telenovelas Umkhokha: The Curse and My Brother’s Keeper, both concluding after successful two-season runs. Shirley Adonisi, M-Net’s Director of Local Channels, praised the productions for showcasing Mzansi’s talent and bringing heartfelt stories to life. “These shows have resonated deeply with audiences, thanks to our talented writers, producers, and actors,” she said.

Umkhokha: The Curse, initially a 13-part series, quickly captured audiences, while My Brother’s Keeper became a sensation with its compelling family drama. Both will continue airing their final episodes—Umkhokha ends in February and My Brother’s Keeper in April 2025.

As Adonisi promises, “2025 will be sensational with bold, fresh content!” Catch My Brother’s Keeper weekdays at 7:30 PM and Umkhokha: The Curse at 8:30 PM on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161). Stay tuned for exciting updates on the upcoming lineup.
