Marioo on ’The Kid You Know’
[Translation] First of all, I would like to thank my fans because they have been with me from Day 1, they have been with me, sorry for my Swahili, they have been with me, they are so supportive that every single song I release is a hit song. When I release a song it becomes a hit so this time I’m going to drop my album and I know there are many songs [from this album] that will go on to become hit songs so, that’s why the album is called ‘The Kid You Know,’ it serves a reminder [to my fans] that it’s the same me who released those hit singles.
Marioo on Album Collaborations
[Translation] The plan was to do collaborations with different artists from Africa, Nigerians, from Ghana and other parts but you know when you’re releasing an album every person goes with their own schedule and I’ve been announcing my album for a long time but artist’s schedules have been very busy like many of them have been busy so I wanted to do a collaboration, maybe put Davido on the album or Wizkid, but they’re so busy and there wasn’t enough time so that’s why we decided to release the album with mostly East African collaborations.
