South African actress Thuso Mbedu is nominated alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Kate Winslet and Zendaya for a Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) award, announced on 8 July.
Thuso Mbedu has been on a winning streak since her leading role as Cora in drama series, The Underground Railroad which earned her a nod from talk show host Oprah Winfrey. Mbedu thereafter secured herself a role in upcoming film, The Woman King alongside How To Get Away With Murder star Viola Davis.
A few weeks ago, the 30-year-old actress was nominated for Outstanding Actress in YV Movie/Limited series for her role in The Underground Railroad at the Black Reel TV Awards. Now the actress is going up against Kate Winslet, Elizabeth Olsen, Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, Cynthia Erivo and Michaela Coel for the Best Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Movie Award at the HCA awards to be held on 22 August.
